Yinessa Nicole, RN, BSN, is the Nursing Supervisor for one of the lead home health companies in Atlanta, GA, Next Step Healthcare, LLC., while also being a fulltime mother, and tattoo and visual artist. In her younger years she received her BS in Biology and Chemistry from the historically black university, Mississippi Valley State University. Following that, she spent years in the U.S. Air Force, before honorably discharging in 2018 as a Medical Laboratory, Technical Sergeant (E-7).

Yinessa continued her education and completed the A.D. in Nursing program at The University of West Alabama and solidifying the RN title by passing the NCLEX in June 2015. She received her bachelor’s in nursing from The University of Alabama, in 2016, and began her traveling contract nursing career. She traveled and worked in Level 1 Trauma Center ICUs such as Grady Memorial Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center.

Yinessa proved her dedication to patient care in 2018, by receiving the coveted Daisy Award while on assignment in Neuro ICU at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, which is only awarded to nurses who go, what some consider, over and beyond to provide stellar care. During the pandemic she traveled to New York and worked in the COVID, ICU at Brookdale Hospital in the heart of Brownsville, New York. In November 2020, Yinessa gave birth to twin boys, changing the trajectory of her life. She chose to leave bedside nursing, in the ICUs of Trauma Centers as a travel nurse, to be a stay-at-home mother all of 2021, tattooing when she can, as becoming a fulltime entrepreneur became more of a priority.

In 2022, she decided she should not let her nursing experience and passion go to complete waste and began helping manage and supervising a million-dollar Healthcare Company, Next Step Healthcare, LLC. Relying heavily on her experience in supervision in the military and passion for patient care, she has helped them grow and organize the busy back office, while maintaining the integrity of the hybrid position, working remotely and showing up to the brick and mortar weekly and as needed.

Yinessa is now wanting to share the knowledge she’s learned in home health, to help novice home health companies scale to a fully functioning easy flowing healthcare business, driven by patient care.
